Chiropractic
Movement in the horse involves a complex series of biomechanical events. If the normal range
of motion at any joint is limited, biomechanical problems can result, affecting not only the the joint, but also the normal function of connected structures.
A chiropractic evaluation looks for joints with decreased or limited normal range of motion.
A chiropractic adjustment is a specific, controlled thrust along the joint’s plane of movement.
This thrust moves the joint within its normal range, stimulating nerve connections to encourage
the body to heal itself. When the horse is relaxed, there is no need for anything besides the
adjuster’s hands to apply the force. Dr. Engelbert is certified in chiropractic from College
of Animal Chiropractic in Kansas.
